    CBP question.

I was out at the airport last night, and there were a bunch of CBP Officers at the Atlanta Equestrian Center. (Thats where you ship horses into the country)

What exactly were they doing? Do they have to inspect livestock before they can get into the country?

Oh yeah, not one of these jokers were armed.

Most probably they were agricultural specialists. Roughly the same uniform as a CBPO but an unarmed position.

Horses get inspected. I'm no expert on it so you'll need to get the details from someone else. Aggies could also have been there to inspect any grain/hay/agricultural supplies coming in with the livestock.

Yep, sound like agriculture specialists. They were the same uniform - the only difference is their badges say "agriculture specialist" and they're not armed. Some ports have vets whose specific job is to inspect livestock that enters the country.

It's what the uniform company provides.
But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object, evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new guards for their future security.

Translation for the intellectually challenged: If the government screws the people too much, it is the right and duty of the people to revolt and form a new government.

The Agriculture Specialists are unarmed but uniformed therefore their uniforms are the same as ours and the "CBP FEDERAL OFFICER" is the standard BDU T-Shirt that is provided through our uniform supplier.

They are acutally in the process of possibly allowing Ag Specs to be armed. We are waiting from HQ to make a decision but my guess is that within a year or so they will be allowed to start carrying.

Also, for what it's worth, some ports the Officers do also do exams of animals. Usually we are more involved with searching the conveyances and such or, like our port does, the officers may accompany the Ag Specs or Vet to the remote stations. We, as a mater of policy, send an armed person anytime Ag or the Vet go to a remote station for inspection.

    And you're not even blonde.:D:D

TSA considers their screeners to be "transportation security officers" and therefore federal officers as well. Scary.
