    DEA (2008 Applicants)

I attended an orientation in late July and still havent had any type of correspondence. Has anyone else that attended an orientation received additional information as it relates to additional steps. Hope everyone is pt'ing heavy. The entry level pt for DEA is no joke.

Did you send in all your materials? You might want to check with your coordinator so see if everything is in order. Mine was very receptive.

Yeah, I guess it depends on their personality. Mine gave me her cell phone and email and said to contact her at anytime day or night.

The thing I don't get is that you have to pass the PT test before you ever go to the academy. From what I understand you have to pass the PT test as part of the process then pass it again right before you go to the acdemy, pass it a few days after arriving at the academy and then pass it at the end of the academy.

The one thing I like about the USBP academy is that everyone passes the same PT test. I've seen some new DEA females that didn't look like they could pass the BOP PT let alone the DEA PT test. Of course my big a$$ shouldn't be throwing stones at the glass house :(

I had a friend I went through the USBP academy with. He went to DEA when he got done with the DEA academy he told me that the PT for DEA was harder then USBP (that's saying something) but the academic were much easier then the USBP. Of course I never asked him if it was the USBP immigration law stuff or the learning Spanish that was harder.

Yep, after medical you have to pass the pt test with at least a score of 10, if you're approved for hire you need to score at least a 15 on the next one. I think the recruiter stated that you have to pass it three times while at Quantico, but I could be mistaken.

IMHO DEA has the most stringest pt standars of any federal agency. Ill put their pt against everyone, even Marshals and ATF.
