dclaw should be able to answer this.

I spoke to one of the recruiters that works for the Capitol police, the recruiter said yes they are hiring but they are looking for very specific criteria now. He implied that they were looking for individuals with miliatary experience first.

    Wolve-
You and I chatted via e-mail a few months ago. I am also one of those people out there that has still have not heard anything at all after my packet was turned in mid-November.

I also spoke to another applicant that had passed everything and has had conditional offer that is getting ready to expire and they seem to be caught up in the hiring system.

I took the test & turned in my packet in October. A couple of weeks ago, I got notified by my credit reporting agency that the US Capitol Police was requesting my credit report. It's not much, but at least it gave me a flicker of hope that they're still interested in me! When I was in DC for the test, I spoke to a Capitol PO & he said they are still short of manpower so again it gave me some hope. Hang in there fellas, we're all in the same boat...

When the application booklet is turned in to the capitol police, Do they start the entire background investigation before the interview. The reason i ask is because tunlrat just said that his/her credit was checked before even having the interview. I thought the background investigation was always completed before even going to the poly, psych, and med.

    think of it realistically

would you spend money on someone then check to see if they are legally allowed to have that job, or check first and then spend money on them.

So 2 month passed since I passed my test and turned in my application and release form. I called the recruiting office to see what my status was. They transferred me to an investigator and and she checked my status with my Social Security number. I was surprised that the investigator then informed me that they never received my application or release form.

I am concerned at this point because I personally handed my packet and release to recruiter Davis on Oct. 14th 03. The investigator told me she doesn't know what I should do. I left 2 messages for recruiter Davis to see what she did with this info. and I have not heard anything yet.

So what do y'all think is it lost? Or am I just getting the run-around? I have to say I am not real impressed with the way this being addressed so far and the lack of concern on USCP so far. Hopefully that will change and I hope to hear some encouraging news from someone on this thread if you have any.

That is a very strange situation. It could be possible that they lost it or they might be giving you the run around. I think most of the time, applicants have been contacted in less than 2 months for the interview. Perhaps someone else mayhelp answer your question.

I received a call after I wrote my last reply from recruiter Davis she has stated that there could be something wrong with the way my social security number was entered into the system. She has begun the process of trying to locate my info. She hinted to the fact that it could be lost because they do not hold anything at her office but hopes that is not the case.

She was out of the office recruiting in Texas so I was pleased that she is taking action upon her return. I am confident that she will do everything she can to locate it and promised to get back with me in a day or so.

I will keep the thread posted.

Thats good That she called, It makes things better for you. Dont be surprised there are some agencys that loose packets sometimes. The key is to be on them constantly. I noticed that the u.s. customs sometimes looses stuff. If you ever apply with them, beware they have lost documents sometimes.

    Hey BFidnick,

Looks like we took the test the same day! Anyway, If I were you, I wouldn't take any chances. I would request another app. booklet & send it & tell them it's a replacement of the first. What's the worst that can happen? They'll have 2 copies of the same thing. I would imagine Ofc. Davis is very busy. Even though she SAID she'd help you out, your name, like mine, is just one of the hundreds on apps she has to look at every single day. Just my .02. Good luck on the rest of the process.

I got another application packet in the mail today. No explanation. I can only assume they lost the last one. I will call the recruiter on Monday to see what the deal is. Thats a mess!
