Do any federal agencies (FBI, CIA,DEA, ect.) give credit towards retirement for time spent as a state police officer or other law enforcement official?

Peace is not the absence of conflict, but the presence of justice.
My new hero!
Prior active duty military and other federal service is the only thing that counts.
One Big Ass Mistake America
Most federal agencies will hire you as a GS-7 (as opposed to a GS-5) if you have actual law enforcement experience, be it federal, state, local, or MP. That saves you one full year in reaching your full pay level. And, the diffference between GS-5pay and GS-7 pay is pretty big.

Thanks for the info guys..another question: can you back back time in the reserve/guard too or just your active duty time?
You can only buy back active duty time.
I actually believe that I've read somewhere that retirement points accrued while serving as a member of the national guard or reserve can be bought back to count towards a federal employee's retirement.
But I have not the time nor the energy to look that up, as where I am it's time for breakfast.![]()
