My test is scheduled for the end of Feb and was wondering if anyone who has taken it recently has any thoughts on the test in general or study tips to pass along. I am working through the ARCO 11th ed. book right now but was hoping to hear about what worked or didn't in preparing for the test.
Thanks
If you've been using the ARCO book in your studies then you will be well prepared; math has always been a weaker subject for me, and that book really helped me out in getting ready for the TEA exam.
As far as additional advice is concerned the best piece I can give you is to answer every question (even if you have to guess, preferably an educated one ;) ). Points are given to correct answers, and wrong answers do not take away points - so it is in your best interest to answer them all. You need a total of 70% (cumulative) to pass the exam.
Are USSS SA's issued g-rides?
Just curious...thought you guys would know.
I found out on Friday that I passed the TEA. I was just hoping to get 70% and I ended up with the highest score of everyone that took it that day -- wonders never cease. I'm just waiting to be set up for the panel interview but just wanted to know how long others had to wait before meeting the panel. Hope everyone's application is progressing well.
From the time I took the TEA to the time I had my panel was about 7 months. This is highly irregular, and typically never happens; the avg. wait is usually about 1-2months from the time you took the TEA to your panel. It usually varies also by which office you're applying through - some are busier than others.
The reason why I had to wait so long was because I was going through the NY office. Where a lot of agents were pulled for the RNC, DNC, UN visit, Presidential election, and President Bush's last tour before he leaves office.
