Also, does anyone know what there timeline is for hiring people, are they expediting the hiring process due to the manpower shortage? Thanks again
are you talking about hiring "100's" of special agents or immigration agents?
as far as expediting the process, it basically is a quick process whether there is a manpower shortage or not, but once you are finished with the process, the wait for an offer can be very long.
your best bet is to score as high as possible because they process the highest scores first. also, the swiftness of a job offer also depends on your geographical location. im in miami and have been in the process for almost a year now.
one more thing, do some research on i.e.a. in this forum and you will get a better picture of what to expect.

The posting does not specify which of the DRO offices is hiring, it just says nationwide. Is there a specific question to your question?
Have not heard anything regarding expediting the process; that is Border Patrol. From test in 12/05 to initial offer in 11/06 was 11 months with a score of 92 and a geo preference of AZ. I went to FLETC with people who tested in 03. As Rix031 said, score high and use veteran's preference to be looked at faster.

Thanks guy, appreciate the info. Yes, it was Immigration Agents, I am in NW Florida but picked Salt Lake City as the location I would like to go to. Hopefully that will work to my benefit. I have the May 30th test date in Mobile, anyone else got this date?
I do have one specific question, how is the PT structure while at the academy, is it daily, like every morning for two hours?
Thanks
On average, about every other day for 2 hours. Some days we had double sessions (if the sessions are split by lunch, don't eat!). If you are wise, you work out a bit on the days you don't have PT to try and stay ahead of the curve. We had no PT for the last month of the academy except for the final PAA the week before graduation.
PT is held at different times of the day depending on scheduling. You will receive a schedule of all your classes the first day of the academy.

ICE-D now runs one of the top three toughest pt programs at fletc. The whole program is run by ex border patrol instructors. PT ranges from daily to twice a day, depending on your schedule, which you will get in the beginning. Our longest run of the program was 3 days prior to our final PAA. My advice is to go in prepared and not rely on getting in shape once you're there. The academics is a joke, but the pt is tough. Good luck.
Thanks, I selected Salt Lake City as the place I would like to work, anyone have any info on this location and whether its possible to get selected for this or is it a long wait?
Thanks,

Sorry about that other post, I forgot to include some things, thats why I created another thread. I have been hearing that they are trying to hire agents within three months from written test date and was wondering if anyone else has been hearing this?
Thanks
guys, i've watched the video on the ice website about the physical part of testing prior to the academy. are women held to the same standards as far as push ups? it did not specifically say, if so i'd imagine they don't have to many female IEA's? i have the written test mid may and want to prepare in advance for the push up part later on down the road.
