Does anyone know of any Federal LE agencies that are hiring? Any agency will be fine with me, especially since i am starting off!

I hope I'm not coming off as an A-hole, but you should research the federal branches and find one that interests you and set goals for yourself, not just pick one to have a gun & badge. :rolleyes:

I was in the same spot as you were when I first started looking; however once I started to look into what each agency does I was able to find a wide spectrum of choices. Once I found what I appealed to me I then sorted out the rest by their mission statement, reputation, personal encounters with their employees/agents, etc.

Obviously everyone who enters into any career has to start at the bottom, but to say "anything will do cause I'm just starting out" I don't feel is the right attitude. Even at the bottom of the totem pole, you have to believe in what you're doing, and what you like to do; nothing worse then being at a job you hate.

The best place I started to do research was speaking with many of my professors (who are ex-fed's themselves) and also going to usajobs (.gov) to see who is hiring. I also went to many federal agency websites to see what each one says about their career opportunities.

Again I hope I didn't come off scolding, I just wanted to share my perspective.

You should try looking at individual agency websites for their hiring status. Make an effort. good luck

That doesn't make much sense. Do you want to be an IRS Special Agent investigating tax evasion cases, an EPA Special Agent investigating environmental crimes, a BOP Officer guarding prisons, a USSS Special Agent guarding aholes, a CBP Officer inspecting people entering the U.S., a DEA Special Agent doing UC buy/busts, a Border Patrol Agent getting shot at from Mexico, a Postal Police Officer protecting postal property.......................................... .................................................. .............?

Do you see the moral of this story?

I agree with the others and you should check into the different agencies so you have an idea as to what you're getting into.

That being said the fastest way to get into a federal position would be with;

U.S. Border Patrol
Customs & Border Protection

The Federal Bureau of Prisons is always hiring. I believe TSA is always looking for screeners, as well. Good luck.
