Anyone on the board a US Probation Officer? I saw that they have a couple of job openings in Florida and was curious on what exaclty they do, and most importantly what pay scale they are in?

On a similar note. When they ask for a writing sample, what would be the best route to take for someone who doesn't have many 'law enforcement' or 'probation' reports to look to as a sample. Will they accept academic essays or the like?

my wife is an officer for s/fl, but i cant really answer your questions because 1) she didnt have to take a test 2) her pay scale is confusing, CL pay scale?? the question about the daily duties is described in the announcement, im assuming. basically, she monitors a caseload of people on probation.

Most canidates do not. So pick your best academic 2 or 3 page paper and use it! If you don't have one, make up a topic and write one!
