    IEA Hiring?

Well? I'm new here from the Officer.com forums and have heard some rumors that ICE will be hiring again in March? Any truth to this?

I haven't seen or heard anything regarding hiring new IEAs in March or in the immediate future. This presumes you are referring to having the testing opened up for new applicants. They are still hiring from the 05 and 07 test cycles. I was told at the academy that ICE was cutting back on new hires to about 1 class (a full class is 48 people) a month from 2 - 3.

We are hiring status applicants, which requires you already be employed by Uncle Sam, at GL-9.

Keep checking USAJobs though. We are 1801 series, if that makes it easier to search.

Thanks. I just received an email from the baltimore field office about S/A testing in March but I would LOVE to do FugOps of which I've heard the majority of the teams are made up of IEAs. Do the IEAs take the TEA as well or is there another written test? shoot me a PM if you want.

    Same here

I too received an e-mail for the S/A ICE test, however it was from the NY office. As far as I was informed, March 3 was simply the registration date but no information as to when the actual exam will be.

Wow Sierra I had no idea they were still hiring from the 05 and 07 cycles. If all goes well with the exam it seems that I may not hear from them about being hired for quiet some time. When I initially applied I spoke with the recruiter from the NY office who expressed the notion that they were looking for people, and there was a very small window of getting the application in so I needed to hurry. I must have gotten the wrong impression hehe

Yeah but you're talking about the S/A position correct? The IEA should be an announcement on USAJobs.com but I know ICE doesn't use USAJobs for the 1811 position. I am just wondering what the process is like for IEA. I know test and all the rest of the stuff but is it the TEA or a different test? anyone help me out here?

I do not know anything about SA slots or hiring as I am not currently interested in that field and wouldn't qualify for it right now even if I was.

The only Fug Ops people I am familiar with are IEAs, but I only have 1.5 months in the field, I haven't come across everything yet. The only SAs I know I have seen are OI. We cycle through assignments in my office and serve between 6 and 12 months in specialty slots like Fug Ops.

I do not know the name of the test I took in Dec 05.

it is not the tea test. it is much easier. matter of fact, when i heard i only scored a 95, i was surprised because i didnt think i missed one question! the hiring process is very easy as well and streamlined, however, it has slowed down to a trickle. ive been waiting for a call since november and there are more that have been waiting longer.

your test scores for the most part are the deciding factor if you are going to be processed. in my geographical area, the cutoff score for interviews i believe was 90. so those under that, are still waiting for an interview.
