USPIS Academy Question

Can any current or former Postal Inspectors on the boards give an idea of life at the Academy? From what I have heard it is the best 1811 academy to attend for many reasons, I just dont know much about the location and the set up. Here are some of my big questions: What type of curriculum is taught? Are there any after hours/weekend activites to offset boredom!? Are you allowed to drive your POV to the Academy? Are you allowed to come home at all during the academy? Also, what is the PT like, specifically running? Are there stores and businesses close by to support dry cleaning, shopping, etc? Any and all information is welcomed!!

I talked with a real good looking Postal Inspector and got you the following answers:

Postal Inspectors attend their own academy located in Potomac, MD. Here is a link for more info: http://www.usps.com/postalinspectors/ar01_15.htm

You can drive your own POV to the campus if you want. The academy offers a shuttle service into the nearby town of Bethesda where you can get on the Metro to take into DC.

There are stores close by to assist you with day to day needs.

All your other questions would be best answered by the recruiter, or when you arrive at the academy.
