    Initial Stage

    - Spoke to a personnalist today--- informed if you live in DC or put DC as your testing location you will get the BEX call pretty quick. They test EVERY DAY in DC. They will continue testing until this summer.

    - Because you may have passed the online test, doesn't mean you will get the call because there is a certain cutt-off score. Also, they said they contact people randomly....

    BEX pass

Just to let you guys know, I passed the BEX in DC. Whew!! Not a charm school exam at all but passable. Make sure you are keeping up with current events and practice your essay skills. Now it is onto the dreaded SF-86 once again.

Standard Form 86 (or SF-86) = Questionnaire for National Security Positions (click here). If you plan to work as a LEO in the federal government, start working on filling this out now.

One kep piece of advice with the SF-86....MAKE COPIES after you complete it!! After you dig back into your past for all the info. you have to put on it, you don't want to have to do it all again when you have to fill another one out a year later for another job. ;)

This is great advice for any and all application, employment, or personnel forms involving a job requiring a BI and/or Security Clearance.

The worse thing you can do is to trust things to memory and have information differ between one form and another form. For example, you apply for one job and later you apply for another job - it will not help if key dates differ between forms about where you lived or where you worked, or you list an employer(s) on one form but not the other, or education/training on one form but not the other, etc., etc.

Discrepancies, even minor ones, have to be addressed and will only drag out and delay an already lengthy process. Having copies not only saves time, but ensures some measure of accuracy in your answers each time you have to fill out a form.
