Does anyone know if the OIG's pay leap during CITP? What about to employees waiting to attend CITP?

JoeyD could definately answer this question. I think they do, but I could be wrong...
You may have to be a little more specific in regards to which OIG you are talking about. There are too many to issue a blanket statement about OIGs in general.
griff5150,
This sounds like one of those "setup" questions from someone who is waiting to attend CITP, who has been told their Agency will not pay LEAP during CITP.
As rocko said, you are going to have to be more specific. Each Agency has their own specific procedures and policies.
You are not going to start off your career very well by arguing that every other Agency except yours is being paid LEAP. I remember hearing the same argument in the late 70's about AUO (Adminstratively Uncontrollable Overtime) being paid by some Agencies and not others (including mine)!
.
OIG guy here. All depends on on you agency. There is no LAW requiring such during training as you are not certified yet. Tell me your agency or anticipated future agencies you are interested in and I will tell you if they do or don't and what I know about them. Based upon my training, experience and conversation with other OIG's, I would say about 95% do pay, 5% do not.

I will add this about my FLETC time. We were told up front that there would be 4 days in which we would be working doubles (8 am to midnight) and to contact our agencies about pay for such. Everyoen did on week 1 and the response was different for each agency in my CITP class.

I am at FLETC right now. We aren't OIG or CITP, but we have a bunch of guys that gripe about having to stay after 1630 (when our pay stops) for additional instruction or required actions (such as uniform issue). It hasn't happened that often, maybe 6 times throughout the course of the academy, but they whine like babies. Of course, there is nothing said about the times we 'accidentally' get released early.

I'm starting with Education OIG. I can't wait, the days following the official offer seem to be the longest, kind of like the last week of a deployment.
I'm not overly concerned about getting it or not during CITP. I was just asking for financial planning purposes. (Just bought a house.)

I know somebody in Education OIG in DC. I will e-mail her tomorrow and ask her for you. Going to DC as a duty station?

Yep, I'm going to be at the DC office, which means I wont have to move again. (Just transfered from San Diego)
She said she was paid LEAP at FLTC, but it took 3 weeks to kick in and she was not paid back-pay on such.

Thanks Joeyd. Any chance you can pick her brain about what I should expect when I finally get over there?
She said student loan/grant fraud. Lots lie to get it, use it and fail to pay it back or follow the rules. Then you find out they lied.
