FBI Process - Military/LEO Experience News

I had a meeting with my S/A-Recruiter yesterday and received somewhat bad news. As of last week, apparently the word came down that the FBI will no longer be giving Phase I testing to people in the LEO/Military critical skills until AT LEAST Summer 2008.

He pretty much confirmed my suspicion that guys like me waiting for Phase II would be put on the bottom of the waiting list until that changed. The only real exception is the Tactical Program they have going.

According to the information I received yesterday, the FBI is pretty much shutting down all Phase I type tests unless you are in one of the following critical categories:

Foreign Language
Computer Sciences
Tactical/Special Forces Program
Heavy Intelligence Experience

I will keep waiting, and hopefully there will be exceptions, but I wanted to share the news with others who may be waiting as well.

FBI is far from the only federal LE investigative agency out there. Many others look very highly on military and LE experience. Just something to keep in mind. ;)

Yeah I definitely know that. I have a package in with NCIS but as you know very well, it takes about 3 years to get in there heh. I am going local here anyway, and it was what I was going to do originally. I'm already sworn with them on the Reserve, I just need to get in a hired status .
