Anyone know any information on these guys (Nasa Protective Services). Cant find any website with employment info on them.

I know a little bit.

They are deputized by the county Sheriff so they can work traffic, they work a ton of narcotics because of their location, and also do a good bit of fish and game work too.

Of course, there is always a lot of gate duty also.

You have to watch NASAs website for employment and act fast. These guys like their job and turnover is very low.

I just checked NASAs website, and I see employment is now handled by USAJOBS.com.

Around here they are not deputized by anyone, they are not even allowed to carry weapons off of the base unless going to a contract site.

They are at Kennedy. Who does security at Marshall? (I am assuming Marshall because your profile says Alabama.)

Marshal Space Flight Center and all other NASA components on Redstone Arsenal and in Huntsville AL

I think i read your question wrong lol....Nasa Protective services is who does security here....at least thats what their patch and badge said.

Dosn't Redstone have it's own DoD police?

Yea, but they dont work NASA, or the other NASA contracts and locations around Huntsville.

Hey,one thing to keep in mind is my info is probably 15 years old. Way back when I got out of the Army, the job I wanted more than anything else was NASA security police officer at Kennedy. I visited Kennedy, spoke with a bunch of officers, and did a ton of research.

There was also a great article in one of the LEO magazines at the time on them. It might be online somewhere. I think it was guns and weapons for law enforcement or maybe SWAT.
