CBPO Initial Pay Grade Question

I did actually look at the IEA position and while I decided against it due to the travel I'll probably apply if another announcement comes out in the relatively near future. My wife would never in a million years go along with the Border Patrol though since she's not willing to move away from our families.

I was going to say USBP will take you as a GS-7 and it's a covered position. Then you don't have to worry about being 36.

But, if the wife won't go then it's not worth it.

I too have meet a few Lawyers here in FED LEO land. One I worked with and he's now DSS. Both said that most GS-11, & higher make more money than most lawyers :confused:

Lots of prestige comes with the ESQ title along with lots of debt from law school and most don't make the money that people think they do. :rolleyes:

That's definitely true about us not making what people think we do. I can do really well in a good year but most of the time you scuffle. This is why you see some of the ridiculous lawsuits out there, people are just grasping at straws trying to pay their overhead. It's even worse when you're first coming out of school, I actually took a pay cut from a data entry job to take my first job as a lawyer.

As far as student loans, I used to refer to mine as the S Class Mercedes I didn't get to drive.:D

Update,

I sent in my transcript and surprise surprise, someone must have actually read it because CASS is now showing me qualified as a 7.
