    Unhappy USSS hopeful

Any other USSS hopefuls out there? There's gotta be. Anyway, I've read on "other" discussion boards that S/A application processes can be super long & nerve wracking. That I agree with, but maybe someone can give me some advice as to what I can do next. Here's my "sitch" so to say:

    02/03--Initial app
    03/03--Initial interview
    04/03--Took & (barely) passed TEA
    06/03--Panel interview

Since then, zip, zilch, nada...Called the local field office, told me I should be expecting "correspondence" from DC. Doesn't sound too positive to me, especially after reading some horror stories on the aforementioned other discussion board. Any suggestions?

    logan32,

Some words of advice when filling the "forest" full of USSS apps, make copies of everything, try to do everything on computer & save copies in your hard drive, & find yourself a typewriter--trust me you'll need it; not all apps can be found online & EVERYTHING must be typed. Yeah...tell me about it.

Are you filling out the application for the uniformed division or for special agent?

I am actually almost done filling out the application. I will probably be turning it in sometime next week. When you took the Treasury Exam was it difficult?
    Anyway good luck!

At the time I turned in apps for both positions, but later they made me choose which one I wanted to go for & chose SA. Both apps are VERY similar. Good to have copies of both. How do you define "difficult?" I thought it was, only because of time constraints. You basically have 2 minutes a question. I suggest picking up any TEA study guide at your local bookstore & getting a math wiz friend to help explain the math portion of the TEA study guide. Then again, that's just what I did because I hate math!

What type of math is on it? Is it advanced math? I recently took a GMAT test for graduate school. Would the math that is on thre be similar to what is on the TEA exam? Sorry for all the questions, but I guess you can never have too much information to be prepared.
    Thanks

No, it is basic math that you haven't done since early high school or even middle school (e.g. Train A leaves at so & so time, Train B leaves at so & so time). All word problems, lots of percentages. No algebraic functions or calculus or anything like that. Only hard if you haven't done basic math in a LONG time. Again, time constraints & no calculators make it kinda frustrating (I mean who doesn't use calculators nowadays?).
