    Cia?

I noticed that the CIA posted a Special Agent/Investigator position on their website. They didn't give much information about it, (did I mention they were the CIA?) but they said it's not an 1811 job. Does anyone know anything about the job, such as what they would do, or the training or anything? It seems like a good job, but I can't really tell from the information on their website, and google turned up nothing.

    I believe you're talking about this? https://www.cia.gov/careers/jobs/vie...ial-agent.html

SA's with CIA work for their Office of Inspector General. This means you'd be working fraud, waste, and abuse cases within the Agency, not doing James Bond type stuff (for that, you'd want to look at the Clandestine Services branch).

With the salary they're offering, I'd venture to guess this position is far from anything entry-level, so unless you've got substantial work experience in doing fraud investigations or have worked previously as an 1811, it would probably be next to impossible to be qualified at the level they are hiring (I'm guessing GS-13/14 based on this: http://opm.gov/oca/07tables/html/gs.asp).

You may also wish to look at the info available about this position on 911jobforums.com (do a search there for "CIA OIG").

If you're looking for James Bond type stuff, your best best is to go buy the James Bond Box Set from Amazon. The CIA clandestine service, while critical to our nation, is not as Mr. Bond portrays, unfortunately.

What a friggin headache that job would be. Investigating people for an agency who can't provide you with any information.
