ATF SA Announcement

Does ATF schedule an appicant for TEA Exam, or do you just go and sign up for exam?

When there is an announcement you apply, recently the openings have been very short. You get your package in very quickly (may want to have everything already filled out except the announcement # and date) and wait for them to send you either a test date and location or a letter saying thanks, but no thanks.

I finally rec'd a packet from ATF statintg that I passed the S/I and moving on to the next stages of the process. So, things are moving and the usual snail rate.

Congrats. Was this the coveted "FedEx" packet? I was checking my mail everyday for a while until I read that it's FedEx who delivers the package. Now, I just wait and cry in the fetal position.

I got my poly and Med exam both scheduled for next week. Really nervous about the poly, never did one before. And hopefully the med will go fine. Just wanted to update you guys, things are progressing, keep the faith and keep fighting the good fight!

Dont sweat the poly. Just answer 100% truthfully and dont get pulled into their little "mind games". You will probably leave feeling like you failed, that is pretty normal for most. Good luck with the rest of the process!

Just as Maverick stated, be 100% honest. I recently had my poly and after I left felt like I bombed it; the examiner tried to mentally push me, break me, and get a rise out of me. Be confident in your answers, and be honest. I ended up passing the poly, but I can relate to your nervousness regarding it. Stay strong, be honest, and it will go well

To Whom it May Concern,

A month or so ago there was a posting on USAJOBS about an ATF internship opportunity for undergraduate students for this summer. It said you'd here back within 60 days, it is day 27 now I believe. I was curious if any of you work for ATF or know how the process is coming along?

P.S. Would you consider it an appropriate time now for me to follow up with them via email? The only email listed is the HR HQ in D.C. and I applied for one for a field office. It worth a shot?

Anybody have any idea how long after the poly you may hear anything? Seems to be a bit of time.

Did the poly today, the examiner said that I passed but only after administering a second round of tests because there was some 'responses' that needed to be verified. But all is well that ends well. Got the med/phys on Thurs.
