FLETC is not going to a 6 day work week in FY08. One or more of the larger partner agencies may.

Anyone have the class schedule for CITP FY 2008 yet for ICE?
Actually, the classes (at least for ICE) will be going to 6 days a week for training effective FY08. We (ICE D 7XX) will be the last class who will be 5 days a week. This is per my DSP class coordinator and Spanish instructors as well as a pt instructor for ICE D.
Sorry, I do not know the CITP schedule.
Also, as a student, would you be entitled to OT in any form, even if it goes 6 days a week?

When I was just at FLETC a few months back (CITP), we had four days, with scheduled double shifts, and two with the IG Academy. And yes, everyone called their supervisors since it "scheduled."
In CITP: ICE, HHS and U.S. Mint paid OT. GSA, VA, NCIS, DCIS and Forest Service did not! They told their employees it was "LEAP."
In IG: Nobody got OT, it was all LEAP.
All depends who you work for. Also, my ICE classmates, some were and soem were NOT getting LEAP. They were all told they woudl. It just took a few weks for some to get it going. Depends on yoru regional HR person. But I know this, those who had to wait 2 or 3 weeks...never got back LEAP! They were told by the HR contact that "You get it when you get it." A close friend of mine just finished ICE-SAT and got back and complained to his HR that he missed 5 weeks of LEAP he was entitled to. They told him they will "look into it" so he his hoping for the best.

Anyone going to be there in November? I start 11/5 and the only thing I know to expect is a 6 day week. Other than that, the answers to my questions were pretty vague.
I'll be there 9 Oct until late Feb for CITP and SABT.Originally Posted by Hopeful07
Other than the one above, you haven't asked any questions in this thread. You might get less vague answers if you ask a question or two. ;)Originally Posted by Hopeful07

My new hero!
Now, some of the partner agencies are trying to pull back from the 6 day week and FLETC is pushing for it. As usual, it comes down to money. It will be an interesting FY08.

CITP classes are not just ICE. Each class has other agencies in it. CITP is not agency specific nor tailored to any agency. The class schedule That is your add-on. ICE goes to ICE-SAT, Most OIG's go to the OIG Academy, etc....
CITP starts a new clss of around 50 every week. The schedule is the same for each class. Week 1, week 2, etc....

Don't forget to take a bicycle if you have one. There is a great perimeter trail around the facility. Just watch out for crossing armadillos -- they'll wreck you lickety split (not that I would know about that...)
