IEA Roll Call

With all the T.O's that recently went out, I would have thought there would be more conversation about these positions. I sent my t.o. packet back last week and anxiously waiting the next step. FYI I chose New Orleans as my geo pref and scored low 90's with no vet pref.

I tested in December 05 and got my TO in July of last year. I completed all processes and received an offer in November 05 (total time 11 months) that I couldnt take because of a scheduled AT. I then tore meniscus the day before taking the then newly-required Fitness Test.

After sending a couple of letters from the surgeon to Medical, I will be taking the Fit Test Tuesday. Hopefully, another offer will come on its heels as I turn 37 in August. I only put in for Arizona (Phoenix, Florence, Eloy).

Just a question for you guys out of curiosity. I have met several DEO's on the job but never an IEA. Is IEA mostly a uniformed position within ICE or is it plain clothes or both?

From what i understand, it is a semi uniformed position. It depends on your assignment, but seems most are wearing the 5.11 pants and polo type shirt. Please someone correct me if im mistaken.

The IEA is officially a uniformed position. There are a couple of approved uniforms; Blue BDUs, khaki 5.11s and dark polo, or regular blues that looks like the CBPOs. But the Director may allow agents to wear civilian clothes based on their discretion and the assignment/mission. There are many IEAs that do not wear uniforms at all, some guys wear it every single day. At my office we dress according to our assignments.

It appears that some May 07 testers are already getting calls to participate in the PT test. This process appears to be zipping along.
