Presidential Management Fellowship (PMF) and 1811 career

Does anyone have experience using the Presidential Management Fellowship program (PMF) to land a career as a federal criminal investigator, gs 1811? The PMF requires rotations and training and I was wondering if I could get myself into CITP while in the PMF program, then convert to a 1811 position when finished. Any ideas?

It appears that the Presidential Management Fellows Program is for individuals who have completed their advanced degree requirements, i.e., those who have their Masters Degree:

If your career goal is to be a GS-1811 Series Federal Criminal Investigator, AND you will be completing your Masters Degree requirements shortly, my suggestion would be to skip this intermediate step (which has no guarantee for employment afterward), and apply directly.

If you are an undergraduate at an institution which offers the Cooperative ("Co-op") Education Program (which has a guarantee for employment if you complete all the requirements), I would strongly recommend pursuing that course of action. I you get accepted as a Student Trainee (Co-op Candidate) you will bypass 95% of the frustration and aggravation you may have seen on this Forum from external applicants, or applicants attempting to transfer between Agencies.

    Best of luck!
