Wow! Thanks for the heads up. Well on March 3rd I'll actually be at the Grand Canyon on a mini-vacation trip with some friends and family. I did plan ahead to make sure that the hotel we're staying at does have internet access so I can register accordingly. Good thing its 12am EST, most places will still to be open where I am due to the time zone difference

Ice Pin Stuff

On that note, does anyone know what I need to have ready on the 3rd, I have the pin and website and stuff, but are the questions biographical or should I have a resume on hand and all the standard forms? Anyone who has done it already, I would appreciate the heads up.

I think the questions were very basic biographical info. Plus the standard drug-use/criminal history stuff. Nothing huge. Took me about 15 minutes or so if i recall...

In the Spirit

In the Spirit of the ICE opening, I thought I would ask a question. Do any ICE agents know how one is assigned to a particular area of jurisdiction with ICE, or if you are in fact assigned to one. For example do certain people do gang and violent crimes, others fugitive aliens etc? And how are those assigned? Thanks

If you are a prior 1811 with a particular expertise, you may be placed in a program area which emphasizes that expertise. Beyond that, placement is at the SAC's discretion.

<40 hrs later

Less than 40 hours later, the ICE SA is closed now. I was sitting there clicking refresh from about four minutes out, I did not realize how long it was since the last opening (due to graduation date I was only eligible recently), I cannot image the number of people issued marketing numbers and it sounds like only 1000 in. I wanted to give congrats to those who have a testing date, mine is 3/31.

ICE exam

Nice mbrowne! I was able to register as well, I was up bright and early and only had to hit refresh once lol. My test date is April 1st, but I'm debating on whether I should change my testing location. I'll check it on that tomorrow I guess.

I'm testing on April 4th in Houston. I took the TEA in New Orleans and passed, so hopefully I can do the same with this damn test.

Hey, just joined this forum...I've been active on the 911 forum in the past. Recently registered, taking the test in Golden, Colorado on 3/31. I'm going through ARCO's TEA prep manual. It has been a long time since I've done any math!!!! Does anybody know if ICE's exam has the same number of questions that I'm seeing on these practice tests (25 verbal reasoning, 20 arithmetic, 30 investigation)?

Testing March 31st

Hello all,

Finally a place where I can post for free- LOVE FREE.
I have watched the other forum since 2003 and always had questions but could never ask.
Well here I go again- I am scheduled to take the test march 31, 2008. I took it in May of 2006 and did not pass.

So, as i go forward.... I am looking for advice on how to pass this thing. I felt great on the math and the grammer last time but did terrible on the verbal reasoning section.

I used the study guide and the Arco book.
Any sugestions on what else to do?

Could use all the help you guys can dish out.
Thanks in advance and good luck to everyone taking the test and to everyone at whatever step they are at.

If I remember correctly there is a little more in verbal (30) and a little more in the math (25). The time limit is a bit more also I think. There is NO investigations section, so dont bother studying that. The ICE exam has an english/grammar section which I found pretty easy. All of this is in the ICE SA exam study guide, which you can get a hard copy from MHC. The ARCO guide is definately the best tool (as far as im concearned). The verbal stuff is identical to the TEA, and the math is a bit easier IMO but also similar. My advice is to study the ARCO guide (and dont neglect the verbal stuff), knock the verbal sections out of the park and then pick the math problems you are strongest at first. This strategy helped me pass 2 TEA's and the ICE exam. Good luck to both of you!
