That is great. I was just called 11/5 with my final offer. I too got into the SAC I interviewed out of. My EOD is 12/6 with orientation 12/7 and training 128 to 5/17. I assume you are the same???
Feels good. Not sure what your situation is but mine includes a wife and two boys (3 and 1). Wife ok with it but the boys are tugging at my heart strings. Already planning flights home.
Congrats.

Yep, I'm in the same class as you, I'll send you a PM, I don't have a wife or kids, I've been waiting to get into this for almost 2 years. I'm very excited.

Mad41pd,
I have completed my medical and am awaiting the next step. How did you know they were working on your BI and how long did your BI take? One last question did you go into the T&S pool and if so how long did you have to wait for the final offer?

My BI started with a call from the investigator and an interview at my home. Apparently my BI took only a week and a half. He told me that he was given a short deadline o my file. Reason unknown. I have no real special skills which would warrant that but oh well. My hold up was a not medically cleared. They needed documentation on a eye surgery I had in 99 to clear me. I don't think I was ever in the T&S pool. I called to see if I was medically cleared after 30 days of not hearing and got a call 3 hours later with an offer. EOD 12/6 Training 12/7. Came very quick.

Travel to/from FLETC
I begin 12/7 at FLETC. Anyone who has been or is attending know of restrictions on leaving to go home on weekends. It won't be every (obviously) but I plan on doing so frequently. Only 2 hrs from JAX to PHL and not too expensive.
As a follow up, anyone know what time classes start and end so that I can plan accordingly?
Thanks

Weekends are yours to do what you like. Just make sure you get back in time for training or it will be a real issue.

Mad41pd,
I had the same eye issue as you. They ended up sending me an additional form that needed to be filled out. I have called and e-mailed to find out if I have been cleared but gotten no response. I am now patiently waiting for the BI to start to at least know that things are moving along. Thanks for the info it gave me a little hope.

All I know about the Chicago SAC is that S/A recruiter is hard to get ahold of!

Yep unfortunately it looks like my initial intel may have been correct after all. Supposedly Dallas was told not to process any classes past Dec. We were told that the reason for the freeze is there is budget for hiring for the FY but not enough money to pay the new agents over the next year. Here's hoping the freeze will be quick and you guys will be back in the game soon. I know how much it sucks. I got caught up in the 2005 DEA freeze right at the end of the process. Also keep in mind that this is the Govt and things can change very quickly. Good luck!

maverick, do you think the freeze will just affect people in T&S or will it completely stop all interviews, BI's, etc.

I honestly dont know. When DEA froze in 05' everything stopped, until the freeze was lifted 2 years later. Then they started calling those late in the process asking if they were still interested. Will ICE do it that way as well? I havent a clue.

I am guessing the freeze is for all positions (IEA), right?

Actually that is a very good question. ICE OI Im pretty sure is a totally seperate hiring budget, so this may not affect IEA at all.
