Some bad news for those waiting. Heard today that ICE will be going into a hiring freeze soon. It looks like they will only hold around 10 classes this FY (most of which are already at FLETC training) remaining scheduled ICE classes beyond that would be cancelled. Hiring wont be expected to resume again until FY2012. Heard this from several instructors here today at FLETC. Now of course this is the govt we are talking about and this could all change. But right now that is the word. If I hear any more info I will pass it along.

Well Maverick I hope you're not completely right, my contact just told me I'm in T&S...I'd sure like to at least make it into one of the next couple of classes.

Hey Guys,

This is why I put the disclaimer that things could change in a second. Well apparantly the instructor this morning didnt have his story quite straight. (I apologize I should have waited before posting). Supposedly ICE will continue hiring classes throughout FY2010. So there are still many classes to be hired and plenty to get the "call" if you are in T&S (its over 30 classes projected I believe). Its FY2011 that currently has no plans to put classes through. With all the hiring ICE has done in the past few years im inclined to believe that this is probably true. But once again this is the government so you never know!

Any thoughts on how this might affect the rumored November announcement? Is that officially dead?

I find it hard to believe that they would not put even one class through in 2011....but like you said this is the gov. so no one really knows

Just got the call!!! I'm going to the SAC I interviewed out of, I EOD 12/7...couldn't be happier. Thanks to everyone here that has been helpful, it's been a bumpy ride, but man do I feel good now.
