    Thanks Maverick24!!

    Maverick24:

Thank you for the information! I was not aware of that medical waiver. I have been sleepless the past 24 hours worrying about the Ishihara Plate test. I can see many of them but there are a few that are tough. I've actually been studying the plates looking for markers which will give me clues as to the number of the plates I have difficulty seeing. I've been back and forth between worry and pi$$ed off. I have been a cop for 12 years and have never made a bad pinch or given a bad description for lack of color vision. In fact, I see all the same color that anyone else would see, just not able to distinguish all of the various hues in the light spectrum (supposedly). Besides, when was the last time you saw a car or shirt with a bunch of tiny circles on them with varying degrees of color that you had to pick out one.....NEVER!. Otherwise, for 32 years old (pushing 33), I am pretty damn fit and healthy as an ox.

I thank you again for the info. You have set my mind at ease, a bit, knowing that if something comes up, I may be eligible for a waiver with prior LEO exp. if I come up with minor color blindness.

    CITP - Shortened

I was going back in time and saw this post, is there any info anywhere as to the reduction of class length? If I were to get the job, my wife will be thrilled if the time is shortened. She is not real interested in my 21+ weeks away in GA, while she is home playing single mom.

Pull the number off your home caller ID and call CHS. back first thing in the morning either Monday or Tuesday if they are like every other G office and closed. They can look you up if you give them your name and social. Don't wait for them to get ahold of you. I updated my phone number 2 times with them and they kept calling my old work number to get ahold of me. Same when the "the call" came they used my old number for that as well and I missed it for a week. It is worth it to track them down first if you know they are looking for you. If you need their number PM me, I might still have it somewhere. All the best. The rumor is they are ramping up for more capacity for FY 2010 at FLETC!

I called the number as soon as I realized what it was. This was Friday at 5 pm, and I guess the company started labor day vacation early because they are open until 7 pm. I left a message, but I will be calling back first thing Tuesday morning. FLETC by 2010 would be nice

I got my CHS call on 9/3. THey scheduled quick, within 5 days. 2 days later the investigator called to meet with me for my personal interview to begin my BI. He is coming the afternoon of my Medical. Seems to be moving quickly now (which really means nothing), but one can hope. I am sure yours will move the same way.

Im actually not sure. I've heard rumors that CITP could be cut to 10 weeks after the 1st of oct, but I have no confirmation of that. All I know for sure is they are cutting several classes out of the program. As for ICESAT our class is the first of the fiscal year. They cut 5 days off our original grad date. We had originally heard more through rumors but I'll definately take 5 days!

Roger that! 5 days is 5 days. Had my Medical, Drug Test, and personal interview to kick off my background check today. Moving right along....finally. Hopefully they shorten classes even more. If you hear anything please post. I hated the academy 12 years ago, and would certainly not be looking forward to this one, but 20 wks is nothing over 20 years...

Funny you should ask that. If you have time before you go, call CHS and ask if you will be doing it at the same time. Here is what ahappen to me today. I go there and the Occ Health had no information about my drug screening. They told me they usually do them seperate. As I was leaving, the Dr who did my exam told me that the drug test is ususually first, not second. On my way home I decided to call CHS to find out why my drug screen was not scheduled. They told me that it was an oversight and that FED EX had a problem over the holiday weekend which caused the problem..... They put me on hold and called hte Occ Helth location. They then came back on the line and told me to turn around and go back for the drug test. If you are close, no big deal; I live 1 hour from the test site. Fortunately I was only half way home.

Lesson: If when you get there for your medical and they do not have the drug screening kit with your info, call CHS before you leave to save a trip.

Bottom line continue to stay on top of them! Some highlights when I was in the process:

    1. Lost my Equp paperwork

    2. Never sched for a medical, took days to get through to Dallas

    3. Finally scheduled medical

    4. Medical forgets to give me an EKG makes me go back again several weeks later.

    5. Loses my Equip AGAIN, has to print and submit a third time.

    6. Schedules drug test, sends me to a place that is closed on the wrong day.

Had I not stayed on top of them through the process, I'd probably still be in the process to this day. In their defense the HR had actually moved from Minn to Dallas in the middle of my process, so things were a total mess for a lot of people. Hopefully things will go much smoother for you guys. Good Luck.

    Taking Baggage to FLETC

I head down for class 951 next week and since the last time I had the honor of going to FLETC, airline baggage policy has changed drastically. Does anyone who's currently down there know if there is a two-bag allowance attached to our tickets?

I'm just trying to prepare myself for any added expenses.

    Thanks!
