They should get rid of all the duplication between CITP and ICESAT and spend more time on other areas.
It didn't make sense to have to take the baton test TWICE, qualify for firearms TWICE and do the DT test TWICE. I guess since CITP is not agency specific, they need to do things that way. It just kind of sucked to repeat a lot of what you had just finished in CITP.
That is part of it. Some of the things you listed (and other things) will be dropped from the CITP curriculum. Not sure what ICE is dropping yet, but we hear it will be 2-3 weeks worth.
YYZ from what I understand If you start CITP before the week of Oct 1st you will be on the current curriculum. As a matter of fact your class may be the last before the switch.

Does anybody know if they got rid of the final exam in ICESAT? We were told that our class would be the last to take the comprehensive final.
Just wanted to see if those rumors were true.
I just received my "EOD" packet via Express Mail. The thing is, it has no information about my actual report date, duty station, grade, etc. All that was in it was a FLETC do's and dont's and FAQ sheet and a FLETC student registration form. ??? Anyone else have a similar situation.

I mailed in my TO paperwork at the first of the month, and I was told that it had passed through to security. What does this mean? Does it go to a BI next? Should the medical call should come soon?
Yes eventually the BI will process and you will get a call from a background investigator for a meeting. The BI usally takes several months. The medical is done independantly of the BI, the two have nothing to do with each other. It took about a month before the medical call came, then the drug test shortly after that.
I finally got the 'real' EOD packet via email from CL. And also got a call from my class coordinator for CITP, it seems all is well.

Glad you got that squared away Diggy, are you flying to FLETC or driving?
I'll be flying AND driving, I have to EOD in St. Croix so I'm leaving my POV here so I can pick it up when I fly back up.

Hey everyone. I am new to the forum so I'll introduce myself. 32 y/o, uniformed LEO for 12 years (10 F/T), Swat, Narc., FI instructor, B.S. - Crim. Justice, M.S. Criminal Justice, and working on M.S. #2 - Mgmt/ Pub. Admin.
Time Line:
4/11/08 - Test
6/2/09 - NOR
Part of that 85-90 group that just recently got interviewed
2/8/09 - Oral Board/Writing Sample
7/18/09 - SP-86
9/09 - Scheduled for medical ...soon
Almost through the ICE process after, what seems like years of waiting. I am looking for some info., particularly in the medical/vision.
I believe I have mild re-green color blindness. I took the Ishihara test back when I got my first LEO job and had trouble seeing some of the numbers. I obviously did well enough to pass, or they just didn't care. I find those test stupid is that they are not true color tests. In 12 years I have never made a bad stop or arrest for failingto recognize a physical based on color of slothing or of a vehicle.....what is the deal. Can anyone shed some light. I am going a bit crazy finally getting this far and fearing this color test. I can see all colors, but apparently certain shades are goofy when they are applied to some wacky scientist's test.
Also, If I do pass, seems like I am down to the wire. Do I have a long time before I hear anything. I had to tell my admin about the possibility of a background investigator coming to my station so I have been put on the backburner for the next detective slot until they know what I am doing.
Thanks for any help out there.
This forum has grown a little cold as of late and I think it's because with the new fiscal year approaching the activity has slowed considerably, but I thought I would just shoot this out there to reply to you. . .
I started a new job in April, the week after I started I got my TO, then went through the BI, the Medical (there were some issues that required further documentation so it took longer than normal), the Wiz Quiz and got my call within five months of the TO.
That's a rough time line of how things worked out for me. I had started a new job and then had to hand in my resignation 6 months later, but I don't mind at all and they don't blame me because this is a career not a job.
Mad41,
The ICE physical is very simple and basic. But they do give the color blindness test. Im almost positive the standards are the same as CBP's which I believe is posted on CBP's website somewhere.
Having said that, if there is a colorblindness issue, you would probably be eligible for a waiver due to your prior LE experience. Basically it waives any minor problems that may show up, because you are already doing the job as a LEO. If you do run into any issues with medical, definately look into that option.
After seeing on other forums that people are getting the medical call, I decided to check my home phone caller id. I missed the call for the last two days while I was at work. aaaaarrrrghhghhh. I wish my cell phone had rang. Now, they are closed Monday for the holiday.....lol I will be forwarding my home phone come Tuesday
