When I registered back in 08 I was afraid to hit backspace or refresh for fear it may kick me off completely or out of order. Fortunately for you it worked out.

Maybe it's because there aren't that many applicants for this announcement. Either not many people know about it because it's only one day or not too many obtained the marketing codes in time.

I agree, this announcement window was so short and limited. I think ICE wanted to avoid another fiasco like 08.

Maybe they are waiting for all interviews to be finished before sending out the tentative offers. A reasonable and logical assumption would be they are currently interviewing March 08 applicants with scores in the 70-79 range.

Based on my understanding, yes, interviews were scheduled according to applicants' scores. Applicants with high scores were interviewed, beginning October 2008 I believe.

If that were the case then why did they already send out TO's to those that interviewed in the 90+ scores? I called Dallas, my name "went to the board along with 300 others, when they finish looking at all the applicants in this group the TO's will be sent out," that's straight from the horses mouth.

I believe he's correct. 90+ testers were interviewed in October"ish" of 08. I know another batch of testers 85-90(?) were interviewed in February of 09. The 70-85 group was interviewed in May-June of 2009. That's good intel you received from Dallas. What testing group were you in?

So ICE will (eventually) interview everyone who passes the test? My worry is that I'll score in the low passing range (if I can pass the test at all), then by the time they get around to interviewing me in 12 or 18 months, there will be a fresh set of people who have subsequently passed the exam and ICE will start interviewing from the top of the pile again.

BTW, what is an average score for the ICE exam? 70? 80?

LOL thanks Tx, I just wish I could get ahold of my contact now to tell me what's going on or if they've heard anything about the TO's. I scored in the 85-90 range...I have 10 pt vet pref too but I didn't use it...stupid of me. Do you have any indea about the second round of TO's? Or how many of the 90+'ers got TO's? I know a few people on here have recieved them, I know 100 of them went to selection but of the 100 I have no clue how many got TO's...

Wow, this board has had a lot of action lately. I think this is the first time I have seen it greatly outperform the 911 board. Welcome to the newbies and good luck to the 09 testers!

Regarding the interviewing based on test scores, I doubt that will happen again. My understanding is that the 08 group was the first one to do it and that was only because there was a glitch in the registration system that allowed 3 times the designated amount to register and was open for 72 hours instead of 24. Maybe some of this was pure rumor or speculation, but it seems probable.

Use the Arco TEA study guide to prepare for the exam. It is a little more difficult than the actual exam. The ICE prep manual is good also. It is closer to the actual difficulty level, but you will run out of practice questions quickly. Study hard! I didn't because I thought it would be pass/fail and I knew I knew enough to pass. Turns out I could have interviewed 7 months sooner if I scored higher. At one point we were even told those that scored under 90 would not be considered for further processing. This upcoming test will probably be a simple pass/fail as in the past, but you never know what they will do with the scores. Make sure you are near the top.

No problem, I can't seem to get an answer out of anyone now, Dallas won't answer and no-one knows anything...so that either means none of us was selected (I know that's not likely) or they're on their way (I've been praying mine is), has anyone on here heard anything?
