Anyone know if ICE is running multiple classes for CITP each week?

My ICE Timeline
Tested in August 2005, Interview was sometime in October 2005, Background interview was October 2006, CASS showed Background Complete in November 2007, Quals still pending. During that time, had to refresh Medical and Drug Screen. It's easier said than done to just live your life while you wait, but thats the best advice you could probably get. If you have your mind set on being a criminal investigator, apply to some other agencies if you want to. If your heart is set on ICE, expect to wait awhile. I have a friend who went to the academy. He told me the wait time for some of his classmates was anywhere between one and four years. The ones who were selected with the shortest wait tended to be CBP Employees, but not always. Also, don't expect CASS progress to be any indication of a timeline. Take it for progress. Good Luck.

Roughly half my CITP class is ICE, and I believe most got their PIN #'s and started the process in mid-2005.

I applied in 06/06, tested in 09/06, SI in 01/07, med/drug Screen in 05/07, BI cleared in 07/07, and quals cleared 11/07, also moved to T&S this month. Waiting on the call with about 1000 other people. If you're just beginning this process, welcome to the loooong wait. On a side note, my process has gone quicker than most 09/06 testers. Most are still waiting for qualifications to clear in CASS.

Once you enter T&S in CASS, all the different sections go away and are replaced with your T&S date. Out to the right, it basically says expect the call in 30-60 days, but depending on an applicants selected location, it could be extended another 30 days or longer. One, no one gets to "select" a location. Two, I really appreciate the vague timeframe, "30-90 days or longer."
This wait between each stage seems like forever. Once you pass the interview, it's all a waiting game. It's the last stage where you can directly affect a pass/fail. Provided your medical doesn't reveal anything, you don't do drugs, and you can pass the BI, the rest is cake. My advice for the interview is, be early, wear a suit, be well groomed, and relax. Answer the questions to the best of your ability, and take your time. I can't give the specifics of the interview, because they have you sign a confidentiality agreement. Good luck!

One more thing, if you don't know what CASS is, it is an online automated system where you can check your progress for each step. You can visit it at http://apps.cbp.gov/cass. You'll be put into the system after your receive your Tenative Offer of Employment statement -usually after you pass the interview.

Thanks for the info. Im actually not too worried, as I have been through many panels before. I will just put on my best game face, give it 100% and hopefully that will be enough!

Nothing here. I have been sitting in TS for over 90 days. I heard a rumor that MHC's duties will be transfered to Dallas after the first of the year....Anyone else hear anything of the like?

I just got my letter saying I passed the interview after the 09/07 test. Does anyone know at what point of the process negotiations for pay/step levels could occur at? I will be transitioning out of the military to get on with an agency (I test with ATF, Tampa Test this Month), but I am afraid ICE will be too large of a pay cut. Do they negotiate (possibly with seldom seen step 00)?

With what do you have to negotiate, in order for ICE to give you a 00?
