Ok, anything new? Some of you guys had a April 25th BEX right? How did it go?

Ok, so far, this is what I've got:

Me: Passed online test, waiting for BEX call

Couple questions for anyone familiar with DSS:


What was your background before DSS?

Aside from the LE requirements, how much does your interest in international affairs/international living experience play into your application?

How good of a stepping stone do you feel Border Patrol would be?


I ask because I am very interested in both LE and the world. I would love to travel and live abroad. I am joining Border Patrol but I feel that ultimately down the line I would like to get involved with DSS. I also studied International Relations in school and wanted to know if that would be a benefit.

I can tell you from what I know Border Patrol is an excellent stepping stone to other agencies. You will find former BPA's in every agency I can think of. As a matter of fact one of my interviewers for DSS was in fact, ex-Border Patrol. If you want to start your career in the feds, you really cant go wrong with Border Patrol....

Found out this week that I'm on the register...I should be ranked high enough (hopefully) to get into the October class but I'm going to try hard not to think about it between then and now. What will be...will be.
