Expectations of FLETC...

Hey everyone. If all goes well I will be applying for a Federal Officer position in the next few months. I know what to expect during the physical interview but I am not sure what I will be doing at the FLETC. I know that I have to take the PEB and the uniformed officer courses but I am not sure what they consist of and I can't seem to find it on the website. Any help would be appreciated. (sorry if this is a repost) Thanks!

Each agency runs their FLETC program differently. What agency are you applying to?

Just asking in general.....

How does the system work whereby state certified officers become federal officers? I see on the website for the NSA that the Police Officer position can also be obtained by currently being MPTC (MD) certified. In place of going to FLETC. At least, thats the indication the website gives.

While going through the MBPTP or whatever they call it now, you'll be shooting, driving, hut hutting around, NSA marches in formation all over the place. The scholastic part is pretty generic because all different agencies go through it. Not a bad program but nothing like a local/state police academy. Once you get the FLETC certification, several states will accept it for laterals if you get back to MD and decide that its not for you . Good luck

Thanks Ice. So if that is all I would be doing that means there's not even that much PT? I was thinking of runs all the time and obstacle courses. :-)

Sorry to hear that. I got a call the week after I submitted my resume but a week before my interview I had to postpone it due to an injury. So basically all I have to do is call them up and reschedule once I am healed. I can't wait.

I dont even remember, proabably a year or so ago. I just kind of gave up on it though. I was more interested in the FAMs, but I got a rejection email at the very end of the process :(

Just for an update.....I am going to the interview on April 7th. I have a great feeling about the PT test and the interview process. I will keep everyone posted on how it goes. Wish me luck! ;)
