Lying under oath can get you some jail time, or possible probation depending on your record.
The more important fact is if you tesitfy as a LEO you have kissed your career goodbye. You can not be trusted to work on another Federal Case for the USA and you might as well remember this line

In some cases....you can get off scott-free. Case in point, Bill Clinton.
I personally think he's serving his own life sentence though. Let's call it a living hell (of sorts). :rolleyes:

If you are referring to civil perjury involving a private citizen, it is rarely punished. If prosecuted, it is typically a fine and probation. Perjury on a criminal case is something very different.Originally posted by Island_Girl
