If you applied to OSI under announcement 06-04, you received (or will soon receive) an email with the following message: "Please be advised that VA#06-04 has been cancelled and no further action will be taken with this announcement. Applicants will not receive any further consideration. If you would like to be considered for other employment opportunities with OSI, please go to our website: http://public.afosi.amc.af.mil and reapply against a specific vacancy announcement."

Also, a current SA with OSI stated the following on another web forum:

The announcement was closed due to manning issues. There are enough applicants in the pipeline from previous announcements to fill projected slots, plus there hasn't been enough attrition through retirements/resignations. There is a new lead civ recruiter at HQ who is getting spun up as we speak (see one of my first posts in this thread). It's a steep learning curve to be sure, since recruiting is only one of the duties for that position. Expect the next VA to be the PAQ announcement in June. At the moment, there is no Developmental Announcement planned for this year. That's not to say that it can't or won't happen, it's just not in the works yet. And as someone mentioned in a previous post, keep those KSA's ready, as all of our VA's tend to look similar. This agency is definitely worth the wait. Sorry for the not-so-good news. The PAQ announcement mentioned in the quote above is the only civilian SA hiring program scheduled for this year. For more information on this program, look up "Palace Acquire" on the civilian employment area of the AFOSI website.
