    About friggin time!

Jeez, finally got my ICE SA tentative offer in the mail today. Any one else apply through the "pin" process last summer?? Any one else get one? I have been in a SA stalemate with USSS, ATF, and ICE for almost a year now. Hopefully the others pick up as well.

BP348- Thats great for him. Do you know if he had any other choices to pick from? Or was it NJ take it or leave it??

UD2206- I was thinking about that , but only if and when I get an official offer. By the way, are you currently UD? If so what branch?

Valor55- I finished everything with the USSS last Aug. They never return calls and with me being UD it actually hurts my chances since they only have a small amount of slots for us slated in each class. AS for the ICE SA gig, its only a TO at this point. Which means your approved for hire in their eyes, but you still don't have a class date. But yes, if I was given the official job offer Id take it.

Just got off the phone with ICE. I have to take a PT test on the 24th. Is this new for their hiring procedures?? I have no problem with it, just never heard of it with ICE before.

I was just on the ICE website last week and read about their PT requirements and I think I do recall something about it being new. Don't ask me what the link is, I have no idea. I'll search tonight to see if I find it. It was something about a stair step test and 2 others.

I thought it was all standardized. 1.5 mile run, agility test, max bench press and the flexibility test.

I did the test last september as part of my med for ICE. Its a three minute step test, push ups, situps, and a sit and reach assesment. Nothing too complicated. P.S. I've been in the ICE SA process for 2 1/2 years with a TO in hand from May 05' anyone else here have the same sort of time frame??

Hey Fedguy, thanks for the info. A three minute step test?? what the heck is that? Is that just to measure your heart rate or are they looking for speed?? Youve had your TO for a while...I think things have just started to pick up though after that long hiring freeze. I mean they had 2 feb classes , a march class, now an April 17th class. I was also informed of their being 9 more classes before the fiscal year ends. Have you finished your BI??

The step-test is a test that is often a requirement before hitting the track for the running portion of a fiot test. It is a quick gauge (More of a liability), in an arttempt to show that you are not that likely to fall over and die during the run. You step up and down of the step at an established rate (matching the sounds of a tape recording). If your heart rate is above a given number, you are not permitted to proceed with the run.
