Well guys had to give the job up. The Guard will not send the alternate to a deployment and they have just cost me this job and my future. Good luck all who got the call I so wanted this job.
Thats rough bro, Its a shame it couldnt be worked out. Be safe on your deployment!
I was just cleaning out my e-mail and found one from May 7th.(I guess it was overlooked, really don't know how I missed it) It was saying that I have received a conditional offer of employment, please turn in some documents to continue the process. Documents were background form, medical paper, all stuff I submitted with the initial application. I called up Avue and asked the woman who answered what was going on. She told me that the background process is very lengthy and that if I was disqualified that I would be notified. Can anyone help from this point?
Got the call to take PTA finally in couple weeks.

Is it true that Federal Air Marshalls get to preboard infront of all the other passengers? If so, I think that is a stupid policy.

I think you may have opened up a "can-of-worms" with that post.
All you need to do is scroll back a few pages in this thread to realize that virtually all current and former FAM's are not thrilled with many of their Agency's policies, particularly those which could potentially compromise their anonymity.
I'm a bit embarassed to say this in this thread, but I have a number of former colleagues/friends who are TSA Directors and Supervisors (two Directors and one FAM Supervisor). When I hear about policies or proposed policies that are potentially "outrageous", I'm on the horn with them almost immediately. They claim they are just as frustrated and helpless as the front-line FAM's.
I have advised them on several occasions that if Directors and Supervisors speak out, their HQ must listen, but when they tell me they will bring it up, I'm not totally confident that they do .....
.
I speak from xperience. When I did, my ASAC closed the door and told me that if I continued to point such out or make an issue, all I would see are shuttle flight for the rest of my career. (They are the worst, with 3-4 flighst a day to the same 3 cities. They are long, boring and give you no extra money [per diem/overnights].
So I learned very quickly. Do as your told and question no policy or procedure. My office did not care how much experience and training I had and the fact that when I complained, I put it in writing, with examples from other agencies why it was wrong, and gave a idea or recommendation how to fix it. It didn't matter. So I left after a few years. And I was also contacted by ICE Office of Professional Standards, who heard about my and others situations. They are trying to handle the problems. But again, my office had two bad apples in rank causing all the problems. Whne they go, things will have to improve.

I never pre-board. I have not pre-boarded in a very long time. I even board last.
Hi All,
I haven't posted on here but have been reading for a few months. After being in the hiring process since 2005, I received a call today for a start date in October. Just wanted to thank everyone for the updated information.
Congrats! Sounds like you've been waiting over the long haul. What FO?
anybody knows what exactly happens if, while in the waiting game, you turn 37? S.O.L.?

Unfortunatley, yes, unless you already had years in.
