As far as I understand it ....if you have already met with the Psychologist…that new mental heath form on Avue does not have any need to be completed by the applicant.
However, those who have not yet had the physical examination will need to print it out and complete it and bring it to the DR. when they go.
This goes along with them eliminating the meeting with the psychologist unless they suspect something that would need further investigation.
Anyone else getting this information?
Do you mean the actual Physical or Psychological Meeting?
In my situation the form came up after completion of the physical, however I have not had the Psych sitdown yet.
well, in your case I would fill out that form and bring it to the psychologist meeting.
But I gathered that for future physicals that form will be filled out and collected at that stage, because they are said to be doing away will the meeting with the psychologist unless something else triggers the need.
Looks like I will be going with the new process of just submitting the form and based on your results, determines a meeting or not.
Waiting upon confirmation from my FO. I will post an update
Watch the news segment I posted and stop sweating about getting a job here. you will get it when you get it.
I can't believe it. That psychologist interview was the only step in the process that I was actually looking forward to. If that step has been removed from process and all I have remaining is the PTA would it be in my best interest to try to schedule a test date at my FO as soon as possible or has it been confirmed that there will be Sept. and Oct. classes. My reason being that I would feel much better having a few extra weeks of training to bump from Fair to Good.
Im a FAM applicant since pre-katrina (8/05). Until recently (last week), I haven't heard anything. Now I have an interview scheduled this week and have completed the physical last week. If and when I complete the necessary requirements, how far in advance will they notify prior to an emplyment start date? Also, with 8 years law enforcement experience with the last three being an Detective (Presently), some college (4yrs- 3 classes remaining)and numerous paraprofessional training courses, what might the salary be for me if assigned to DC? Will I have to attend the entire 14 academy?Originally Posted by intheaircop2
Let it be known, despite the negative information read and received throughout my researcha about FAMS, If Im hired I intend to change the oranization with my POSITIVE ATTITUDE!!!! It's not a department that makes an officer, it's the officer who makes the department. So if all the officers are whining then you have a department full of cry babies. Lets not cry lets do the job or shut the f*** up. Im a cop till I DIE. I will Die with pride not disgust!
BTW intheaircop, I LIKE everything you have said!!!! Keep it up
Can someone tell me what the interview was like?:D
I speak only the truth
Can you advise me of the aforementioned question?Originally Posted by intheaircop2
The interview is a panel interview, like other LE jobs. I don't think anyone should address the question further than that.Originally Posted by StreetJustice
:cool:Im speaking about the pay not the interview particulars?Originally Posted by InternBoy
The pay varies between G,H,I bands. Specific qualifications and experience will obviously help you get more money, but its up to FAMS. People in my class (last winter) ran through all three bands, based on experience. More info can be found throughout this threadOriginally Posted by StreetJustice
Clearly you've never been employed by the government. Many men and women have died trying.Originally Posted by StreetJustice
