So try that.
I actually tried everything again today and improved.

    Push ups: 39 - 1 min
    Sit ups: 40 - 1 min

I was able to improve on a lot so I think I have a better idea of where I stand.

Thanks so much for the flex hang advice. I am going to try it and report back.

It's overhand...but I would try your very best to complete at least 1 pull-up.

Thanks for the feedback. I was looking at the PTA online, and the picture shows the guy doing underhanded pull ups. I had been training over hand, not that big of a deal, but I found that I can do at least 2-3 underhanded pull ups easily.

I'm still training them really hard at the gym 4 or 5 times per week with the pull ups being the focus for improvement.

Thanks again, I know you guys don't have to respond and I really appriciate all the help.

If I am correct you can get more points with the hang then just 1 pull up and that is why I do the hang. I can do 13 pull ups but I like the hang. I only weight 170lbs.

I can do the max in every stage with the exception of the run. I hate the run! I only come in at 14 min for the run.

I'll never max the run. I'm just not built that way, I guess. My best time so far is 13:52.

Thanks again for taking the time to log in and help us out.

P.S. The scuttlebutt from another forum is that they are stopping the hiring process as of August 15. Since they haven't done my credit check yet, I'm not sure I will make it...

Well here's one less candidate to compete against for Newark :(

Good luck to those still in. I'm off for a drink.

Seems like I am the only one posting here anymore. Seems like most people are over at forums.officer.com, but apparently, being a sex offender parole officer for 7 years is not good enough to register and use the site as I keep getting denied...

Anyone else waiting for the assesment battery?
