That question is a bit vague.

There is a huge difference between the same series job (i.e. Federal Criminal Investigator is an 1811) from one agency to the next. If you want to know about a certain agency, that may be a bit easier to answer. Keep in mind, however, that even within the same agency the job can vary greatly based upon location and specific assignments.

Some agencies have a little more turnover than others. However, most turnover is from one agency to another of the same job series, at least for 1811s.

I know that when hired by the DEA, you must sign an agreement with the agency stating that the DEA can move your permanent duty station to wherever and whenever they please.

FYI, all of the major federal agencies that I know make you sign a mobility agreement. Some enforce itmore than others, but they exist nonetheless.

DEA, FBI, SS, USMS, etc.etc.etc. all those jobs are hard on a person with a family. I knew two guys (both divorced) that told me they love the job (one was Secret Service the other US Postal Inspection) but sometimes they wish they did something else... but that is just stress. I think its really tough on someone that has a spouse or kids...
