    1st Interview with Pentagon Police

    Hey all,

I have been contacted and I have an interview with the Pentagon Police this Saterday 18 March 06:D

This will be my first 'interview' for a law enforcement agency, period.

I have a suit I am scoping, I have done some homework on the Pentagon.

Any veterans of FED LEO interview panels have insight for me, this is going to be my cherry popper.

Any advise will be greatly helped

There's a lot of information already available for panel interviews if you conduct a quick search. While departments will vary in what they do, a lot of the basics regarding a panel interview are same.

Contact your recruiter and see what they recommend to prepare. Some agency's have mock oral boards or practice questions just to help you get an idea of what they are looking for in the answers to their scenarios. Typically it'll go one of two ways: Tell me about yourself, why you wanna be a Police Officer, yada, yada, yada or a scenario based question like: "your rolling down the street and you see a robbery in progress, what do you do?" etc, etc. The scenarios always suck. You never know what a department looks for as some respond to things a little differently. Just remember that the preservation of life is very important and uh lets see, oh, dont accept gratuities, try to learn their use of force policy, the escalation and de escalation of force, be able to talk about community oriented policing etc. and dont express to the panel any extreme political or religous views you may have!

    Good luck guarding that mountain!

That's the screening interview where they go over some basic stuff (I went through that before). Once all of the paperwork is completed and submitted (i.e. the "background") then they'll decide if you make the cut for the "actual" interview (which I didn't make). Good luck.

    No Go

    Baron you were right,

It was a phone screening interview. I didn't have enough on the resume to go further on. I will not be flying for the face to face panel interview.

No foul, no injury..I put by best and honest foot foward and I didn't make the cut. At least I tried, that is what really matters:D

    Moving on..
