I work now for a company that is a contractor for the US Dept of Education. I used to work for a sheriff dept in my state. The other day, we received a threat from a borrower stating that he was going to blow up some buildings and join a terrorist group. I don't want to be too descriptive because the investigation is just starting. The Dept of Homeland Security contacted us today and got statements from us. This borrow was mad at the gov't and said he would do these things to teach them a lesson. He has about $1000 in debt. Not a whole lot. Anyways, what is everyone's opinion on how the Dept of Homeland Sec is going to handle this? If the guy says he was just mad and said stupid things, will they still prosecute it? I know it's serious to make these threats, but how far do you think they will take it?
