    Fbi

    Hey everyone

I had an interview with the FBI on September 21 of this year. I was told that it would take 2 1/2 months to hear anything from them and the 2 1/2 months are up. I was wondering if I should call them and ask them what's going on or what? Also after the interviewing stage what comes next? Background check or polygraph?

I was told by a couple of AC's that a good rule of thumb is to not call the FO more than once every two months or so, so I wouldn't see why it would be seen as a negative that you call now (after waiting 2.5 months) and check on your status. You're probably in the same boat as me. I'm applying for another federal agency, but with Xmas and other holidays approaching, applicant processes have been slowed to a near halt. Expect things to pick up again after the New Year.

The least you can do when talking about an agency is make sure to capitalize the acroynm letters of that agency, it shows respect plus they are suppose to be capitalized.

As far as your what you should do, sure give them a call like ROS said you have waited plenty of time, so it will not appear that you are "bugging" them. Howerver as he also mentioned you will probably be told that they have stopped working on the process due to the holidays that are near. Do not get discouraged by this, it simply means that you are not a priority or any other possible recruit. Good luck to you though.

What type of job is it ??? That may also have something to do with it. Was it a full interview or what they call a "meet & greet" ?
The older you get, the better you get, unless of course you are a bananna.

It was a full interview for Investigative Specialist position. Also I put FBI in CAPS but some reason when I posted the thread it changed to Fbi. Thanks for pointing that out to me though. Make sure you use spell check while posting your threads in this forum. It shows that you put time and care into your answer.

Waiting over two months after a full interview is plenty of time before inquiring about your status for the Bureau, but as others have pointed out, the holidays will slow things down.

Do you have a contact person at your FO? You may want to drop them a Happy-Holidays-and-any-word-on-my-status? email or call.

Be sure to throw a news conference. That will show you fit right in.
Apparently, I'm supposed to be more angry about what Mitt Romney does with his money than what Barack & Michelle Obama do with mine

FBI= Fan Belt Inspectors, Federal Bread Inspectors, Fumbling Bumbling Idiots.

For some reason, they thought being a Special Agent with the FBI (formed in 1936) was somehow 'better' than being a Special Agent with the U.S. Treasury Dept (formed in 1789). They claimed they were the 'senior investigative service'. Of course, some of these guys had served under Hoover!

BTW, I fully expect they will try to put my name on "the list" of those who don't show the ""proper respect"" to the FBI.

And there are some fine, highly qualified S/A in the FBI - some that 'will do to ride the river with'.

Why is it that the FBI takes a lot of heat from local law enforcement? It just seems like a trend.
