    Major vs. Minor...

The FBI has several "critical skills" that they prefer their applicants to have. (I think they're currently only taking applications from individuals with these qualifications) For example...one of the skill areas is Computer Science/Information Technology. They require you to have a degree in that specific area. Does anyone know if a Minor in Computer Science would be sufficient...or does it have to be a Major?

They want people with degrees that are focusing on Computer Science/Information Technology. The reason for that is they have had more classes in regards to that subject.

The FBIjobs.com website has actually done a good job of spelling this out, if you're willing to actually read what they provide: "To qualify under the CS/IT Special Entry Program, the applicant must have a computer or information technology related degree, a degree in Electrical Engineering, a Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification, or a Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert (CCIE) certification."

Yes, it needs to be a major in the field. If not, if you have relevant work experience to substitute for the degree major (i.e. the proper IT certifications listed above).
