Hey guys... I have been interested in getting into the BOP (Bureau of Prisons) as a correctional officer. I currently want to do it to get my foot in the door with federal law enforcement and then try to get on as a US marshal, but who knows I may like it at the BOP (My dad is a WA police officer and he keeps telling me to go federal)..... Anyways my question concerns the FDC (Federal Detention Center) in SeaTac (WA) and whether or not they have correction officers there? Their web site says that it is an administrative facility, but then says that they house inmates (if they house inmates I would think they would need CO's right?). Im new to the whole BOP thing and just recently started looking into it as an option after college (currently a JR majoring in CJ) so I don't know much about it.... The reason I wanted to know is because SeaTac is like 15 minutes from my house and would be ideal place to work at for me even if I had to go somewhere else and transfer there a few years down the road. If you could answer my question that would be great but if you personly know anything about the BOP, any information would be great... Thanks guys!
