    FBI SSG Investigative Specialists

    Greetings folks,

Just another check in with the Investigative Specialist processing.

I am trying to compare notes and see if anyone else has heard or gathered any additional intel about open slot locations etc... or anymore about the position. It is "slim pickens" out there for info.

I am currently in the BI stage and was informed by the AU that they have to complete the field processing within 15 days and that the FBI has until Sept. 2003 to offer me the position.

    Just checking timelines and info....

    Good luck to all

It's a crap shoot my friend... my experience with the FEDS in non 1811 positions is that they do not like to move people from their home state of application because it costs them BUCKS. Remember, it's all about the bucks. So, if there is an opening near you, that's where you will go. Or, they will send you to a hard to fill location (buffalo NY, San Fran, NYC, etc etc.).

Good luck, let us know how it turns out for ya!

I just did my poly for IS (SSG). I have my medical 07-09-04. Hopefully something will happen soon. No idea about training or hire date at this time.

Is there any insight you can provide on the training. Any tips for future attendees?

What does one have to bring to training (pillows, laptop, etc) and does one get fed or is one on there own?

What's up guys/gals! From what I know, nothing to study for... just bring a happy face. From my sources, I've heard the training is cool (easy, not so hard)... new guys to the FBI have told me that some days they can't believe they are training for what they are doing. Then, I've had professional people tell me they wish it would have been more intense and better organized (guys with HUMINT experience.. DOD etc.). My guess, knowing the FBI quite well, is that the training will be pretty easy but because of poor planning, it will be a challenge. Now that will leave you guessing huh? You'll have to wait and see if my guessing pans out. Anyhow, you are not going off to boot camp... again... you are not going off to boot camp... SO, no major worries on what to bring. My guess, and just my guess.. is that you ought to bring a variety of types of cloths... some dress, some dress-down, and maybe a back pack if you have one, or one of those cool CD carrying type bags. Bring a ball cap or two as well...always good to represent your school!

    Cheers and good luck!
