FLETC grads, a question.

They were forever breaking up our class "patio parties" on the week-ends by claiming that they had noise complaints about us. Ths wasn't very believable as we had the entire building at the time. But they'd always come around and get everyone's name and class number and then a report would land on our class coordinator's desk. The alleged offenders would be dealt with in some manner a day or two later.

Fortunately they weren't too sharp at interviewing because every time I had contact with them, I gave a made-up name and agency/class and they always took my info at face value and went away.

They weren't too sharp at the gate, either. At least once a week-end, someone in our group would forget his base ID when we went out. On return, when they'd ask for an ID from everyone, usually the first ID handed out for inspection would be handed to the forgetful one as soon as it was returned, and then it would be presented again to the gate guard who obviously never read the names because it was accepted every single time. :rolleyes:

Now we would never try these tricks on "real" cops working for Glynn Co. or Brunswick but scamming FLETC 50 was always fair game.

Ah, my first trip to FLETC (I was a TELOS grad), there were no signs up yet, and most folks did not know where or what it was. Times have changed. I taught at FLETC West WEST (in Tucson), as well as downtown Artiesia and GLYNCO. They tried to move our academy to Artesia, we were able to get out of it. Limited health care, no jobs for SO's, no freeways to teach surveillence. 100 miles form anywhere.
Is there security at FLETC? Not really. What a great terrorist target!

They still maintain three locations (Glynco, Artesia & Charleston SC) as well as three International academies overseas. They have branched out a bit.

Still is one big fraternity/sorority party. Nothing else to do out there and in the summertime, its HOT and HUMID and the only way to cure it is: B E E R . Seriously. No joke.
