FAMS Hiring Procedures.

Let me preface this by saying, I like to say the word "preface". P-r-e-f-a-c-e. Isn't that a fun word? Say it with me, "Preface". Don't you feel better?

Anyway, on to the topic at hand. Before I am inundated with questions, this is not "Fam 101". I will answer questions that I can and will not go near those i cannot. This applies in both the forum as well as pm's. Not trying to be an ***, but one has to protect oneself, as well as job info. That being said, here we go.......

Anyone interested in a career with the FAMS, keep your eye on usajobs. I don't know the exact time frame, but we will be hiring fairly soon. While you are waiting for the announcement, go to Avue, set up your profile and add in your info. This is the only way you'll be hired on as a Fam. Avue will forward a list of eligible persons to the FAMS, who then will sent your name to a Fam recruiter. The recruiter will then contact you.

There is no number for you to call. Wait for the announcement, apply and if eligible the Fams will contact you.

Just make sure you start a profile and put in all your pertinent information, on Avue Digital Services. This includes employment history, job skills, merit badges, etc, etc. It's kind of time consuming, but that's how things are being handled. This is the only method by which hiring will be handled.

Yes sir, the series will be 1801. They may advertise under ICE as well. Then again it may be under FAMS.

Anytime any of your fellow officers comes here to Niagara Falls on a overnight, they generally come to see the falls. They check their weapon with us, and word hits the building that a FAM is there, and all the CBP guys come running with 101 questions for the poor duo. All have been extremely gracious to the questioning, and now when I find out who they are, I give them warning to not announce too loudly who they are.

Hey , Im not a FAM , but worked at ORD for a year prior to my current gig.Your right its got a lot of good food and if you got time to kill, your guaranteed booty expansion. I will say its a great place to meet chicks if your single though. You will never see a larger population of hot women than through Ohare airport on the weekends. Just my 2 cents.
