I am interested in applying for a civilian DA Police position and am wondering
what is required for the Individual Reliability Program? If a person has had depression, will that be a factor? How stringent is the IRP?

Does DA Police Position mean District Attorney Police? If so, yes depression will play a part but during your psych it will be decided if it will be a problem to hire or not. Remember everyone has had or has depression, its human.
He's talking about the Dept. of Army Civilian Police Officer position the most bases are going to because of the war.....Originally Posted by hscop
Individual Reliability Program is just that. They do a full background check on you so that you can be issued a Secret Clearance......that would include checking past employers, your credit history, your crimianl history, etc......
So yes, I would describe it as being pretty stringent.
I am non concerned about the background check, but I am wondering if the IRB considers a person's past treatment for depression.
I am sure that would be in there as well. When I was looking into it, I had to have a full medical screening and psyh eval.....and that came up. I would also suggest being truthful on it because when they are doing your background, they will find out.....because I am sure someone knows about it in your family or amongst your friends...Originally Posted by Sampson
