FBI Suits(Uniforms)

When did the wearing of suits come into effect in the FBI. And who said that FBI agents are to wear suits.
How come they dont wear uniforms as, lets say the regular police officers.

Oh MAN I wish they would let us wear Kilts! They are SOOO comfortable. I would definatly wear it at work. My wife and I had pictures take of us when we switched uniforms, we had pics of us in our old Customs dress then in our new CBP dress uniforms. Even though it isn't actual uniform I had her take one of me in my new CBP dress upper and my Kilt with and without gun belt...I kind of like it. The new uniforms have the Ike jacket like Border Patrol wears, it goes well with a Kilt. Maybe once I get proficient with the bag pipes CBP will let me play??? I doubt it though.

Plus, while it wouldn't faze the Canadians, I'd bet having the southern Border Patrol playing bagpipes would slow down incoming!

To my knowledge we don't have one for Customs. CBP, because it incompasses several agencies does have them but to my knowldege the only two CBP agencies to have them are Border Patrol and Coast Guard. As far as the southern border, that was kinda the whole thing with the Scots. They show up to battle wearing kilts and playing that pipe music which wasn't common to some of their enemies and it scared the **** out of them and gave the Scots a starting advantage. The Scottish had long had a reputation as mean agressive devils in combat.

Exactly, Chewy. (I'm of Scottish descent myself) I heard some great stories from a piper about scaring the bleep out of the Chinese during the Korean War.

Customs needs a pipe band. Scare the smugglers into confessing!

Speaking of COAST GUARD... its funny how so many peope dont understand it is a seperate component and not DoD, it is irrelivant with DoD and is under D.H.S, also it is a LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY.

Really? tell me more. I thought the Coast Guard was like the National Guard and basically just part time people driving around looking for free food. They don't even have guns, how can they be LE?
