Gosh, that sounds worse than CBP...I guess we don't have it so bad after all. We are having some of the same problems, depending on the local, and are losing people left and right trying to get out and get another position before all of this paybanding and crap starts. It's too bad, we have some real good people and since 9-11 Detroit has lost over half it's original core group of people to the FAM's, ATF, USMS and ICE primarily. Some (about a dozen) got tired of still not being allowed to do much after 9-11 and just up and quit. What can you do? try to make your little part of the world better I guess and do whats best for you and the family.

I was offered a St. Louis FRB Police position back in January 05, and turned it down. As already stated, each FRB is different in police operation, and NOT a government entity. The starting salary in St. Louis for an officer is $28,500, and at the end of shift you turn everything back in (uniform, equipment, weapon, and badge). Obviously, this is what was briefed to me back in January, by FRB stafff.

With all the money that is being infused into the FRB Police programs, it is ashame they do not focus on the officer's compensation, accredited training, and status. They are a good bunch of folks, and deserve much more.
