Dont make things more complicated then they need to be. There is already enough problems with comunications in FLE. Saying the FAMS investigate terrorism if it happens in one place and the FBI investigates terrorism if it occurs in another place is ridiculous.
intheaircop2 alluded to but i'll add, not ALL crimes on a plane, or involving a plane, is TERRORISM. Enough said. I'm not complicating anything. Do ICE agents hand off the guys they arrest to the FBI for investigating when it doesn't involve terrorism? FAMS shouldn't neither.

I mean if it is a hijacking then by all means the FBI can take the lead. I do not knw if you guys know but every arrest we make is allways handed over to the FBI.
    Makes sense.

If you blow up a bomb in a crowd of people in an act of terrorism you have more than one investigating agency. At the federal level you have the ATF doing all the analysis and "bomb stuff" and then you have the FBI taking lead on the investigation. It is essentially a Task Force.

I don't see why you couldn't have FAMs investigate airline related crimes and when something falls under the purview of the FBI's anti terrorism role then you have the agencies working together. When you have minor incidents like a drunk the FAM can carry it through to court. It's not like court is sudden, you can arrange your flying schedule around it. I'm sure FAMs have had to appear in court as witnesses. If the incident rises in severity to include terrorism then the FBI can step in and begin coordinating with the FAMs. We work multi jurisdictional task forces all the time and it can be done, and done well.

WAIT, Listen to this. I had one of the FAMs in my office make an arrest and when they landed, the JTTF (joint terriosm task force) was at the gate to take it over. The FAM did not even do the paperwork. One of the agents signed everything like he was the one who made the arrest and the FAMs on the flight was just a whitness. I mean these idiots I work for give us nothing. I can't even make a terry stop in the airport without 1st calling my supervisor.
