Yes it is true, the wait is over. Received call 2day at 1638. Excuse me for not being more excited but I am just worn out. I applied May 03. I will be going to DC after training. Start date is March 21. I hope everyone on this forum that is waiting receives the news.

Alright, I know all you veterans are going to get a good laugh at this one, but what does SSG stand for? I've been able to figure out some of the abriviations, like FAM (it took a while of staring at it before I figured out it is Federal Air Marshal.......I think. If not then I just embarassed myself for all to see) Anyway I'm kinda, sorta knew at this thing and SSG has been driving me crazy. What does it stand for?!?!?!?

Special Support Group. Depending on the job position they may or may not be sworn law enforcement officers.

I went to the FBI website and did a search for both ssg and special support group and I came up empty. I'm still trying to do some more research, but if anybody could fill me in, I'd appreciate it.

SSG= Security Surveillance Group, civilian employees tasked with undertaking the surveillance of people of interest to the FBI. These are unarmed/non-agent positions.
